One of America's greatest challenges is a Congress full of politicians who scare easily when it comes to issues of war and peace. Every day we work to light a fire under these reluctant politicians, but every so often we get the chance to help elect candidates with the backbone to stand for peace.
In 2010 we have a chance to change the face of Congress, and make the world a better place. Please join us.
California 44th district candidate Bill Hedrick took almost 49% of the vote in his race against incumbent Ken Calvert in 2008. Hedrick has spent 35 years as a teacher and served on the local school board for 22 years. He understands the strain that war places on American families, with a son and daughter-in-law currently serving their third deployments in Iraq and another son and daughter-in-law who have served in that war zone. donate
Suzan DelBene is mounting a challenge to Republican Dave Reichert in Washington, a member of Congress who voted with Peace Action West a mere 15% of the time in 2009. Unlike Reichert in his support for wasteful military spending and hostility toward Iran, DelBene is a solid progressive who will work for a more cooperative foreign policy... donate
Francine Busby is mounting a challenge against Republican Brian Bilbray, who received an 8% on Peace Action West's 2009 congressional voting record. Busby understands that there is no military solution in Iraq and Afghanistan and will work in Congress to support a solution based on diplomacy, development and humanitarian aid. donate
